Aaron Zolbrod

Aaron Zolbrod was born and raised in Meadville, PA.  He attended East Stroudsburg University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English/Writing. After living in Albuquerque, NM for 10 years, home sick for Pennsylvania, he set up roots in Connellsville and has proud to call it home since 2007. A single father, he has a daughter, Adalina who is 18, and an adopted son Josh, who is 19.

Aaron is the President and Founder of The Health Insurance Store in Connellsville which opened on April 1st, 2008. It started as a one-man operation and has grown to three locations and 12 employees. Right away Aaron immersed himself in the community and served on Connellsville City Council. He also organized an annual citywide litter clean up, volunteered to coach the city’s summer volleyball program, as has been involved in many other philanthropic activities and organizations.

In 2016, Aaron founded T.E.A.C.H. a 501Cs non-profit whose mission it was to work with at risk and disadvantaged kids, which was born after organizing and coaching a travel basketball league and realizing just how many kids needed guidance and mentorship due to being raised in single-parent, no-parent, and dysfunctional homes. He has spent countless hours with local youth and has funded almost 100% of the programming himself.

After a young man Aaron had coached and been involved with was murdered, he and Terry Vassar sat down together and at once realized they had the same vision; to end the cycle of violence, poverty, and dependence in Uniontown and Fayette County. They immediately began working together with a sense of urgency and T.E.A.C.H. became One Voice One Community with the goal of continuing Aaron’s original mission only on a scale 100 times larger where every child in need can get the help they deserve.

who we are

We are a team of dedicated people who came together to break the cycle of poverty, violence, and dependence in Fayette County. We will accomplish this goal by changing habits, thought processes and the normalcy of living in despair and destitution.

We need to show kids that there is another way – by creating an environment of support from early childhood through high school graduation and beyond! We must have patience to gently encourage them with mentorship over time so they can reach their full potential. That commitment requires us being available 24/7 for 352 days a year. By supporting or joining our movement you’ll help open up opportunities previously thought impossible in this community.

Our Vision

We recognize that the people of Fayette County are its most valuable asset. Together we can create an inspired and safe environment to learn from our past; foster connections with ourselves and others; honor existing legacies while forging new ones – ultimately creating a thriving community for generations to come.

Our Mission

We strive to promote a sense of unity and community in our shared home, Fayette County. Our 501-c3 organization is devoted to building access to resources for residents through sustainability and resource sharing – allowing everyone the chance at success.
